Violet’s stepmom Vivianne introduces her to Peter, her new tutor, but Violet is uneasy about being alone with someone she doesn’t know. Peter observes the tension between Violet and Vivianne and learns that Violet longs for more freedom in her wardrobe, as she's usually dressed by her father. The next day, when Peter returns, he finds Violet in a stylish new outfit, courtesy of a shopping trip with Vivianne. During their study session, Peter has a clear view of Violet’s new look.
